5 Daily Habits That Will Transform Your Life

Are your days feeling disorganized, unfulfilling, or lacking productivity? What we may not realize is that we have more control over the success of our days than we think. Sometimes, all it takes is a new habit, a new mindset, or a new activity to drastically improve how we feel.

Have you ever heard the famous Gandhi quote, “Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.”? Gandhi was on the right track when he shared this wisdom, and we can apply it to our lives to make our days feel more organized, positive, and fulfilling.

Prepare for your day ahead the night before

Would you believe me if I told that you that research states how you plan your day is just as important as what you do in your day? One way we can plan for our next day is by creating a priority list for the next day which allows up to have a clear picture of how the next day should be spent. Other ways to plan your day would be to set up time blocks in your day for specific tasks (including time for yourself!), pack your lunch ahead of time, or lay out your outfit so youre not frantically throwing things on the next morning. These habits will help your day feel more productive and like it is operating smoother.

Keep your work space and living area tidy

Keeping your desk, room, or leisure area tidy and organized can greatly reduce stress, maximize your time, and provide a more visually pleasing environment to thrive in! When the space around you is well kept it provides more space for your mind to focus on what matters in your day.

Write down 3 things you are thankful for

Practicing daily gratitude is a powerful way to change your outlook on your entire day and even how your brain works! Experts say that practicing daily thankfulness and gratitude actually helps remove toxic emotions and replaces them with positive emotions such as peace and happiness.

Take time to reflect

We can often get so wrapped up in the day-to-day demands that we forget to process or reflect on the past weeks of our lives. Reflection allows us to grow, gain wisdom, and digest all that our senses take in during the day. Reflecting also allows us to track our progress in the different areas of our lives, such as our physical activity, what we ate, how we thought about ourselves that week, and how we relate with others.

Spend at least 10 minutes for self care

Lastly, don’t forget how important you are! Make sure to take time during your day, even if it’s just for 10 minutes, to make your health and wellness a priority. Self-care can look different for each person, but some self-care ideas may include taking a nice relaxing bath, listening to music, or making time to do something you individually enjoy! So many of us spend our days mostly taking care of business or taking care of others, and can neglect taking care of ourselves. When we neglect our self-care we limit our productivity, health, and functioning. Caring for yourself is a daily habit that can transform your life and well-being!
